From November 27, 2026, to January 1, 2027, Épinal celebrates the holiday season with its traditional Christmas market and Saint Nicholas Village.
For over a month, the entire city center is transformed into a fairy-tale setting the perfect opportunity to plan a winter getaway in the Vosges region.
Spread across locations including Place de l’Atre, Place des Vosges, and Place Edmond-Henry, the Épinal Christmas market is centered around the Basilica of Saint-Maurice.
Stroll through the aisles, lined with around thirty wooden chalets, to discover the famous *images d’Épinal* (traditional prints), local specialties, and, of course, plenty of gift ideas to place under the tree.
Located around the basilica, this Christmas village is the ideal spot to find seasonal gifts, such as traditional prints, wooden crafts, holiday decorations, and various locally made items.

As you browse the stalls, you can also discover traditional treats from the Vosges region.
Enjoy gingerbread, Vosges-style candies flavored with fir sap or bilberry (*brimbelle*), or a slice of toasted bread topped with Munster cheese all perfectly paired with a glass of spiced mulled wine.
The highlight of the festivities will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, with the grand Saint Nicholas parade.
For this occasion, around sixty illuminated floats will parade through the streets, accompanied by marching bands and street performers.
The procession will begin at Place des Vieux-Moulins. Be sure not to miss the fireworks display that concludes the evening at the Sadi-Carnot bridge.
Other attractions are planned to keep the festivities going, including an open-air ice rink set up at Place des Vosges right at the foot of the large Christmas tree as well as a carousel inspired by the world of Jules Verne.
